Sewa Intl, supported by Veedol Care Limited, launched a Mobile Health Care Unit in North Tripura to provide primary healthcare, diagnostics, medicines, and health awareness across 24 remote villages, improving rural healthcare access and benefiting thousands of underserved residents with doorstep medical services.
Sewa International, with the support of Veedol Care Limited, has launched a Mobile Health Care Unit (MMU) that will provide essential primary healthcare services across 24 villages in North Tripura. The project is expected to bring medical consultations, basic diagnostic facilities, medicines, and health awareness programmes directly to the doorsteps of thousands of villagers who often face challenges in accessing quality healthcare.
The Mobile Health Care Unit was formally inaugurated at Chinta Lohar Sadan, Hupulong, during a special ceremony attended by senior government officials, healthcare professionals, community leaders, and local residents. The event marked a major milestone in strengthening healthcare services for underserved communities in one of Tripura’s remote districts.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Ms. Chandni Chandran, IAS, District Magistrate and Collector of North Tripura, who attended as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished guests included Dr. Deepak Chandra Halder, Chief Medical Officer, Shri Pradip Debbarma, Social Worker, Ms. Aparna Sinha, Panchayat Samiti Chairperson of Jubarajnagar, and Shri Jinesh Lal R. V., Executive Director of Sewa International. Officials from the district administration, representatives from the health and education departments, social workers, and a large gathering of local residents also participated in the programme.
The event commenced with the National Anthem, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the traditional lamp. Guests were felicitated for their contributions, while local artists presented a colourful cultural performance to welcome the dignitaries and celebrate the launch of the initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Jinesh Lal R. V., Executive Director of Sewa International, reiterated the organisation’s commitment to improving the lives of underserved communities through healthcare, education, and livelihood initiatives. He said that access to quality healthcare remains a fundamental necessity and highlighted that the newly launched Mobile Health Care Unit would ensure that people living in remote villages receive timely and accessible medical services without travelling long distances.
He further stated that Sewa International remains dedicated to collaborating with local communities, government agencies, and development partners to improve the quality of life in rural regions across India. According to him, the mobile healthcare initiative represents another important step towards inclusive and equitable healthcare delivery.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Deepak Chandra Halder praised the initiative and noted that the Mobile Health Care Unit would substantially strengthen primary healthcare services in remote villages. He explained that regular health check-ups, early disease detection, timely consultations with medical professionals, and preventive healthcare measures would contribute significantly to improving the overall health indicators of rural populations.
Social Worker Pradip Debbarma emphasized that effective healthcare delivery requires collective efforts involving government agencies, civil society organisations, and local communities. He described the Mobile Health Care Unit as a meaningful initiative that would help bridge healthcare gaps while promoting community well-being and ensuring that even the most remote populations receive essential medical attention.
Addressing the gathering, District Magistrate Chandni Chandran, IAS, stressed that expanding quality healthcare services to remote villages remains one of the district administration’s highest priorities. She appreciated Sewa International for taking the initiative and acknowledged the valuable support provided by Veedol Care Limited in implementing the project. She expressed confidence that the Mobile Health Care Unit would make healthcare more accessible for rural families and deliver long-term benefits to thousands of residents across North Tripura.
The Mobile Health Care Unit has been designed to visit villages on a scheduled basis, offering primary medical consultations, essential medicines, basic diagnostic services, maternal and child healthcare guidance, and awareness campaigns on hygiene, nutrition, preventive healthcare, and common diseases. The initiative is expected to reduce healthcare disparities, encourage early diagnosis, and improve public health outcomes in remote communities where access to hospitals and health centres remains limited.
