Coveted DGP’s Commendation Disc was awarded to seven police officers for their commendable service and outstanding performance. This time apart from Tripura Police officers CRPF IG was also awarded with the DGP’s Disc.
The seven awardees are- Ravideep Singh Sahi, IG CRPF, Tripura Sector, Gourab Chakraborty, IGP (Police Housing and Construction / Welfare), Piyamadhuri Majumdar, Addl. SP (Rural), West Tripura, Justin Joseph, Dy SP (DIB), Dhalai District, Jana Ranjan Debbarma, I/C Inspector (AB) SB Orgn., Goutam Debbarma, I/C Inspector, Officer-in-Charge of Mungiakami Police Station, Khowai, and Suman Deb, Sub-Inspector (AB), SB Orgn.
A Tripura Police press release said all these seven officers had worked beyond their call of duty and performed activities towards improving public service, a Tripura Police press release said.
“It is expected that reward to them will motivate other police personnel to show similar professional zeal,” the press release reads.
Phensedyl seized
Amtali police in West Tripura district seized huge quantity of Phensedyl in Sekerkote Monday. The phensedyl cough syrup bottles were believed to have been meant for smuggling.
Police sources said, the contrabands were found from a vehicle when the traffic police in Sekerkote were carrying out random checks.
Driver, along with another person in the vehicle believed to be the owner of the contrabands managed to escape from the spot.
Fraudster detained
One fraudster Tapan Debnath, resident of Haphania near Agartala who duped one person Bipul Sarkar of Hrishyamukh promising him government job was apprehended in Santirbazar area. He was arrested. It,
Debnath who was posted at the Office of handloom in Birchandra Manu was alleged to have taken Rs 1.20 lakh from Sarkar a job in the Fire Service department about seven days ago. Now, Sarkar alleged that Debnath neither could give him a job nor returned the money.
On Monday, Sarkar a driver by profession detained Tapan Debnath and handed over the Debnath to Manpathar Police.
