Benchmark domestic equity indices ended over 0.4 per cent higher today. Earlier, both the indices opened with mild gains, and extended their positive momentum in afternoon session, holding onto around half a per cent gain. The Sensex climbed 356 points, to close at 81 thousand 905, rising for the fifth straight session.
Similarly, Nifty added 108 points, to settle at 25 thousand 114, extending its upward trend for eighth straight session. The broader market indices at the Bombay Stock Exchange closed in positive zone.
The Mid-Cap index ended nearly flat, while Small-Cap index gained almost 0.3 per cent.
