The benchmark domestic equity indices today ended the week’s last trading session on a positive note, rising for the fourth consecutive day. Both indices closed with modest gains of over 0.3 per cent amid positive global cues. The 30-share index at the Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex, advanced 303 points to close at 84,059. The National Stock Exchange Nifty-50 gained 89 points to settle at 25,638. The broader market indices at the BSE also closed up. The Mid-Cap index added almost 0.4 per cent, and the Small-Cap index rose by over half a per cent.
 
 
In the Sensex pack, 18 out of 30 companies closed higher. Among the top gainers, Asian Paints jumped over three per cent, Ultra Tech Cement climbed over 2.4 per cent, and Power Grid advanced 2.1 per cent. In the top laggards, Trent shed over 1.4 per cent, Eternal fell more than 1.1 per cent, and Tech Mahindra dipped over 0.9 per cent. 
 
 
In Sectoral Indices at the BSE, 16 out of 21 sectors marched upward. Among the top gainers, Oil and Gas surged 1.2 per cent, Services climbed almost 1.2 per cent, and Power, as well as Commodities, both rose over 1.1 per cent each. In the top laggards, Realty dipped more than one and a half per cent, Focused IT slipped over 0.3 per cent, and IT fell more than 0.2 per cent.  
 
 
The overall market breadth at the BSE was positive as shares of 2,251 companies advanced, shares of 1,760 companies declined, while shares of 154 companies remained unchanged. At the National Stock Exchange, 86 companies hit their 52-week high, while 24 hit their 52-week low.
