Rupee rises 23 paise to 85.48 against dollar –

In the Forex market, the rupee today strengthened by 23 paise to close at 85 rupees and 48 paise against the US dollar on the back of strong FII inflows and firm domestic equity markets. The dollar index, which indicates the US dollar’s strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, was trading at 97.21 in intra-day trade.
