The Meghalaya Education Department has ecided to reopen the schools and colleges from September 1, sources said.
While all colleges will open from that day, in schools at first stage Class IX to XII will open.
The decision was taken following the recommendation of the High Powered Committee (HPC) on the matter which is headed by Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma,
“We have decided to recommend the re-opening of the schools and colleges during our meeting ,” Education Minister, Lahkmen Rymbui said
According to Rymbui, they have recommended to re-open all the colleges and classes from 9 to 12 in both the rural and urban areas.
