Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha flagged off Rs 15 Cr Development Projects in Teliamura of motor stand and school infrastructures
Tripura Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha on Friday reaffirmed his government’s commitment to inclusive development across all sectors, stating that the state is currently witnessing a steady wave of progress in key areas like agriculture, healthcare, education, employment, and infrastructure. He emphasized that the state government is working tirelessly with a vision of building “Ek Tripura, Shreshtha Tripura” (One Tripura, Best Tripura).
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of a newly-constructed modern motor stand in Netaji Nagar, Teliamura, Dr. Saha said that the development momentum under the current administration is reflected in every government sector. “We have already provided over 16,000 government jobs, and more employment opportunities will be created in a phased manner,” the Chief Minister said.
He highlighted that massive infrastructure development projects, especially in national highway construction, are currently underway, aiming to enhance connectivity and stimulate economic growth in the region.
Modern Motor Stand Brings New Hope
Dr. Saha officially inaugurated the Rs. 4.90 crore modern motor stand, a long-awaited facility for the people of Teliamura. The facility, equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, has been hailed as a significant step forward in improving the daily commuting experience for both passengers and drivers.
Built keeping in mind the needs of modern transport users, the motor stand includes:
- A well-furnished passenger rest area
- A ticket counter and drinking water facilities
- Sanitation blocks and security information centres
- A separate driver’s rest zone
- A spacious parking lot
Local residents, community leaders, and public officials expressed that this project is not just a piece of infrastructure but a gateway to new opportunities for the people of Teliamura.
Virtual Launch of Educational Infrastructure Projects

During the same program, the Chief Minister also virtually inaugurated three newly built senior secondary school buildings, developed at a combined cost of over Rs. 10 crore. The schools include:
- Teliamura English Medium Higher Secondary School – Rs. 4.40 crore
- Mungiakami Higher Secondary School – Rs. 4.24 crore
- Kabi Nazrul Vidyapith Higher Secondary School – Rs. 2 crore
Constructed through a collaborative effort between the Central Government and Tripura State Government, these permanent, modern school buildings are designed to provide a safe, high-quality learning environment for students.
Each school is equipped with:
- Well-designed classrooms
- Teachers’ resource rooms
- Science laboratories
- Computer labs
- A library and hygienic toilet facilities
Dr. Saha emphasized that these educational upgrades are expected to significantly improve the quality of education and help students focus better by providing a conducive academic environment.

Dignitaries Attend the Grand Opening
The event saw the presence of several dignitaries, including Bikash Debbarma, Minister for Tribal Welfare; Sushanta Chowdhury, Minister for Transport; Kalyani Saha Roy, MLA and Chief Whip; Aparna Sinha Roy, Chairperson of Khowai Zilla Parishad; Rupak Sarkar, Chairman of Teliamura Municipal Council; C.K. Jamatia, Secretary of the Transport Department; N.C. Sharma, Director of Education; and Rajat Pant, District Magistrate of Khowai.
The guests unanimously lauded the state government’s initiative, stating that the newly opened motor stand marks a transformational chapter in Teliamura’s journey of development.

Highlighting broader development efforts in Khowai district, the Chief Minister also presented a summary of the various initiatives already undertaken, and discussed future plans aimed at accelerating growth in the region.
He noted that his government is focused not just on urban infrastructure but also on uplifting rural and tribal communities through accessible public services, road connectivity, and employment generation.
MLA Kalyani Saha Roy added that the development initiatives are no longer mere promises but are now becoming visible realities. “The newly inaugurated motor stand and modern educational institutions are not just buildings—they are symbols of Teliamura’s steady march towards progress and self-confidence,” she said.
