Chief Minister in an attempt to revive the folk culture and arts and also the dying forms of performances asked the Information and Cultural Affairs department to take necessary steps. He took special reference to Yatra and Puppetry form of arts in this regard. He also stressed on making new plans for development of Kasba temple and Chaturdash Devata temple.
The Chief Minister was in a review meeting on the Vision Document at the Civil Secretariat on Saturday.
Importantly, the Chief Minister on Saturday asked the Food department to take initiative for introducing home delivery service in the ration shops.He was informed that the people were collecting ration items by using biometrics and an initiative was already taken to provide smart ration cards.
Deb held threadbare discussions on the achievements and the steps taken for implementation of the various schemes.
The Secretary of Urban Development informed the meeting about the current status of various schemes being implemented as per the promises made in the Vision Document.
In this context, the Chief Minister stressed on beautification of both sides of the river Howrah and development of Katakhal.
Deb asked the officials concerned for speedy implementation of various projects taken by the government for public welfare.
In the perspective of the Vision Document, the Chief Minister passed a direction to the Principal Secretary of Transport department for taking initiative to introduce chopper service and construct heliports in various tourist spots to make them more attractive.
He asked the Transport official for speedy completion of Rail Yard constructions at Sabroom and Nischintapur. He also emphasized on improving bus service from MBB airport to Agartala city.
The discussion also included welfare of Janajati areas through Mukhyamantri Gram Samriddhi Yojana.
Chief Secretary Kumar Alok, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of various departments were also present in the review meeting.
