Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma formally inaugurated a Biotech Club at MBB College in Agartala on Saturday. The Biotechnology Department provided financial assistance for setting up the Biotech Club in the college. So far, the Biotechnology extended help to form Biotech club in six colleges across the State.
Speaking on the occasion, Dev Varma urged the MBB students to make it a ‘College of dreams’.
“This College has a unique glory and it has a huge reputation in the country. With the implementation of the Biotech Club project, let the students re-affirm the reputation of the college”, the Deputy Chief Minister said.
He also urged the members of the Club to visit rural areas and work for the welfare of the village as well as villagers. These activities would provide the student with invaluable experiences.
Dev Varma advised the MBB College authority to identify a village in which members of the Bio club would work to implement the bio village project.
In the inaugural programme, Director of Higher Education department NC Sharma, Principal of MBB college Binapani Chakraborty, senior scientific officer of Biotechnology department Anjan Sengupta and other dignitaries were present.
