
Without quality education, development of the society and the country is not possible. Therefore, the state government has started the work of providing quality education to the children of the state by giving top priority to education, said Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath while inaugurating the Gomati district-level bicycle distribution programme organized at Chandrapur Colony Higher Secondary School premises in Udaipur yesterday.
He said that multi-pronged plans have been adopted for the overall development of the education system of the state and the implementation of those plans are in progress. The present government of the state has launched various schemes like NCERT Syllabus, Vidyajyoti Scheme, Super Thirty, Bachhar Bachao Scheme, Centrally Prepared Question Papers etc. Vocational courses are introduced in 295 schools in the state.
At the programme, the Education Minister also said that the state government has taken special initiatives for women’s self-empowerment. Provision has been made to reserve 33 percent seats for women in government jobs. To ensure social security of women, important schemes like One Stop Centre, Women Helpline, Shelter for Homeless Women, Sakhi Nivas, Janani Suraksha Yojana, Mukhyamantri MatruPushti Yojana, different social pension including National Widow Pension, Ujjwala Yojana, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao etc. are being implemented in the state. He said that the PM SHRI scheme will be launched in the state very soon. Transparent recruitment policy has been introduced in the state. Now meritorious students are successfully getting jobs in different departments through competitive exams. He also said that bicycles have been distributed among 99 thousand 209 girl students in the state in the last four years. 33 crore and 10 lakh rupees have been spent on it. The state government has arranged bicycles for all girl students studying in class IX. Earlier these bicycles were given only to certain category of students. 5 thousand 110 students of 118 schools of Gomati district will be given bicycles. He said that the distribution of bicycles in Gomati district has started through this programme only.
At the programme, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath and other guests distributed bicycles among 384 girl students of five schools in Gomati district. MLA Biplab Kumar Ghosh, Chairperson of Udaipur Municipal Council, Shital Chandra Majumder and others also spoke at the programme. District Education Officer of Gomati district Laxman Chandra Das delivered the welcome address. Students and teachers were present at the programme along with senior officers from different departments.
