Ratan Lal Nath, who holds the portfolio of power in the state in the new ministry stated that the government is committed to providing uninterrupted power service and connecting every rural household with power supply. He was speaking in a review meeting with officers from the power department of the state.

The meeting, which was attended by officers from three districts of the state, mainly focused on ensuring steady power supply during monsoon season, increasing revenue collection, and extending uninterrupted power supply to rural areas of the state. Nath informed reporters that the department plans to provide 24-hour power supply during the upcoming monsoon season and discussed several issues, including manpower deployment and vehicle availability.

The power department may need to incur additional expenses of approximately Rs. 88 lakh to achieve its goal. Nath also mentioned that the Union Ministry would soon send a team to the state to evaluate the feasibility of implementing clean and green energy, and the state government is working on a power storage facility. Nath urged the public to cooperate and avoid power theft. He warned that failing to stop power theft could result in a power tariff hike in the future. Nath directed officials of the power department to remain vigilant during the monsoon season and avoid leaving stations unnecessarily. The minister hoped that the department would be able to provide uninterrupted power supply across the state and requested the public’s cooperation. Another meeting with officers from the rest of the districts is scheduled for April 12 and 13.
