Ending all speculations state BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee has been nominated as the BJP candidate for Rajya Sabha.

The lone Rajya Sabha seat fell vacant as the incumbent MP Biplab Kumar Deb was nominated for Lok Sabha seat which he won with a thumping vote share. For the last few days three  names were making rounds as the BJP candidate for Rajya Sabha- Rajib Bhattacharjee, former Lok Sabha MP Pratima Bhowmik and senior leader Subal Bhowmik. 

With Bhattacharjee being nominated for the Rajy Sabha his victory is almost certain going by the strength of the  treasury bennch in the assembly.

His name was selected in the state’s party unit first which was then sent to New Delhi for their final nod.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Sarkar while greeting Bhattacharjee said in his social media platforms, “Heartiest congratulations to Shri Rajib Bhattacharjee Ji, State President BJP Tripura on being nominated as Rajya Sabha Candidate from #Tripura.

Definitely, you will win and work for the development of #Tripura on the footprints of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji.

In his social media handle MP Biplab Kumar Deb congratulated Bhattacharjee for his being nominated for the position. “I am fully confident that Rajib ji’s experience in Rajya Sabha will prove beneficial for the development of the state”, said Deb.

Apart from Rajib Bhattacharjee Mamata Mohanta in Odisha,  Dhariashil Patil in Maharasthra, Sardar Ravneet Singh Bittu in Rajasthan were also nominated as Elders in the Parliament
