Parts of Delhi-NCR have experienced light to moderate rainfall today afternoon, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, bringing much-needed respite from the scorching heat. The weather department has issued a yellow alert for moderate rainfall and thunderstorms across the region for the next five days. Flight operations in the national capital have been impacted, with some diversions reported due to inclement weather conditions. Several airlines have issued advisories urging passengers to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
Meanwhile, India Meteorological Department has forecast very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds over West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Goa, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Assam, Nagaland and Meghalaya for the next  three to four days.  Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana are also likely to experience isolated heavy rainfall till Sunday.
