Puducherry records 17.41 per cent voter turnout in early hours of polling

Voting for all 30 Assembly constituencies in Puducherry commenced this morning. According to the Election Commission’s update at 9 a.m., the Union Territory recorded an overall voter turnout of 17.41 per cent. 
 
Among the districts, Puducherry registered a turnout of 17.37 per cent, while Karaikal recorded a slightly higher 17.63 per cent.
 
Constituency-wise, Thirubhuvani reported the highest polling at 18.98 per cent so far, whereas Mahe recorded the lowest turnout at 13.42 per cent.
