President Murmu says students of AIIMS Kalyani must carry on with glorious legacy

President Droupadi Murmu attended the inaugural convocation ceremony of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Kalyani, held in Nadia district, West Bengal today
        The President conferred degrees upon 48 MBBS graduates and 9 Post-Doctoral Certificate Course (PDCC) scholars. This marks a significant milestone for AIIMS Kalyani, which began its journey in 2019.
        President Droupadi Murmu said the students those who have been graduated from this institute must look after the health care for the poor and down-trodden and make AIIMS Kalyani of national pride. Referring to Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Dinabandhu Mitra writer of Nil Darpan, eminent freedom fighter Bagha Jatin, planner  and founder of Kalyani and former Chief Minister Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, the President said Kalyani has given birth to lot of great personalities and AIIMS must carry on with that legacy. She said that there may be genetic manifestation of health care but the doctors must give lifestyle related guidance to the patients. She mentioned India achieved a significant progress in the field of immunization.
        The event was attended by several dignitaries, including West Bengal Governor Dr. C. V. Ananda Bose,  Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Shantanu Thakur, Minister of State for Health Chandrima Bhattacharya and AIIMS Kalyani Executive Director Dr. Ramji Singh.
