Preparation in full swing for Tirthamukh Mela

A preparatory meeting was held for upcoming Tirthamukh Poush Sankranti Mela at Tirthamukh premise on December 23, a government press release said.

Gomati Zila Parishad Sabhadhipati Swapan Adhikari, MLA Burba Mohan Tripura and Rampada Jamatia, TTAADC Zila Parishad EM Dolly Reang, Chairman of Block Advisory Committee, Karbook block Asim Tripura, Gomati DM Raval Hemendra Kumar, Additional Superintendent of Police Sudip Kumar Pal, Karbook SDM L Darlong, Karbook block BDO David Halam, Samajpatis of tribal communities and officials of different departments were present in the meeting. It was decided in the meeting that Tirthamukh Makar Sankranti Mela will be inaugurated on January 13, 2022.

The Mela will be organised for two days. Like every year, religious rituals like tarpan, immersion of ash of the deceased, Ganga puja etc shall be taking place. A temporary rest house, drinking water and lavatory facilities will be arranged for pilgrims to haltat night nearby Mela premises.

There will CCTVs fixed at different places of Mela premise for vigilance. Apart from that, cultural programmes will be organised at the open stage by the Information & Cultural department. Exhibition will also be set up by different governmental departments. Gairing or bamboo hut will be set up for people from tribal community.

Temporary stalls will be set up so that more than 400 businessmen can put up their stalls..
