The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) organized a training programme on Tuesday in Agartala Congress Bhawan. The senior party leaders imparted training to the party workers , especially as to how they should prepare and face the elections.

The training programme will continue till September this year and it will be stretched from the district level to the block level, said congress leader Abdul Hannan.

He said that a meeting was organised on Tuesday with the party’s District Returning Officers (DROs) and Block Returning Officers (BROs) so that proper training could be rendered to the rest of the party workers for the party election. 

YC slams Modi Govt over WHO estimate on COVID deaths

In the meantime, the Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress slammed the Modi government at the centre over the WHO estimation on COVID deaths and claimed that Modi lied before the nation by claiming only 4.8 lakhs deaths. The WHO estimated that India had 47 lakhs Covid-related deaths.

A large number of youths led by the Youth Congress president Rakhu Das on Tuesday walked in a protest rally in the city.

Youth Congress president Rakhu Das said that as per the WHO report, more than 47 lakh people died of COVID in India, but the Modi government at the centre had lied before the nation by claiming only 4.8 laksh deaths.

“The Modi government had lied to suppress the government’s total failure in tackling COVID situation in India,” he alleged.

He also said that families of the deceased should be given Rs. 4 lakh as compensation.
