In a dramatic turn of events in the Tripura Legislative Assembly, Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman has alleged that even Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha is losing control over his own ministers and MLAs. His statement came after CPIM MLAs decided to boycott the remaining days of the Budget Session, citing alleged violations of Assembly procedures and misuse of power by Speaker Biswabandhu Sen.

Barman criticized the ruling party, stating that the Assembly is being run by force rather than democratic principles. He further accused Speaker Sen of undermining the Constitution and claimed that several ministers, including Ratan Lal Nath, are disregarding the Chief Minister’s leadership.

Supporting Barman’s claims, Opposition Leader Jitendra Choudhury also asserted that Dr. Manik Saha’s authority is being ignored within his own party. Meanwhile, the CPIM has launched a statewide movement after Choudhury was allegedly attacked on caste lines inside the Assembly.

CPIM supporters staged protests at the Ambedkar statue inside the Assembly and in Sonamura, demanding action against Minister Ratan Lal Nath. The opposition’s boycott of the session has sparked further political tension, with Barman calling it an embarrassment for the ruling party.

As the Budget Session for 2025-26 continues, the political landscape in Tripura remains heated, raising concerns about the state’s democratic integrity.
