Tripura police seized huge quantities of drugs and other contraband items in various parts of the state on Sunday.

According to an official press release, on Sunday night Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Panisagar along with staff of Panisagar police station conducted raid and search in a dwelling house at Chamtilla and seized total 29.3 gram Brown Sugar contained in one soap cases and 28 plastic vials from the house of Saraswati Nath.

On the same day, acting on a tip-off, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Dharmanagar along with staff of Kadamtala police station has detained one Sarif Uddin of Sakaibari under Dharmanagar police station from Natunbazar under Kadamtala Police Station and seized 600 yaba tablets from his possession.

Acting on specific input, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Santirbazar along with staff of Santirbazar police station has detained one Thalendra Reang of Dhanichandra Para in Bagafa, under Santirbazar police station from Baikhora and seized 2.70 grams heroin contained in 27 plastic vials along with one motorcycle from his possession on Sunday.

Besides, on Sunday night, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Kanchanpur along with staff of Kanchanpur police station, has detained one Jagadish Nath of Subrata Nagar under Kanchanpur police station from Subratanagar and seized 5.20 grams heroin contained in 180 plastic vials from his possession.

The press release said, today Rs.79,400 has been realized for violation of COVID -19 guidelines ( Non wearing of mask) by the districts.
