Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday will inaugurate the State Institute of Hotel Management at Anandnagar and Agartala Government Dental College virtually from Swami Vivekananda Ground.  Besides, he will also inaugurate, dedicate and lay the foundation stone of various key initiatives worth over Rs 4,300 crore in Tripura with a major focus on ensuring that everyone has a house of their own.
Sources said, the Prime Minister will launch the Griha Pravesh programme for beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Rural while in Agartrala. These houses have been developed at a cost of over Rs 3, 400 crore and will cover over two lakh beneficiaries.

In the meantime, the AMC , PWD and all other concerned departments have given the Agartala city a bridal make up before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit on Sunday. While all roads through which the Prime Minister’s convoy is expected to pass were being cleaned and some new paints were applied at bridges, bamboo made barricades were put up by the side for preventing crowd to spill over.

Police sources said, all required security measures were already taken and by Saturday police, TSR and other security personnel were placed in their designated places. Surveillances were beefed up. The BSF also intensified patrolling along the border. All the security arrangements were done as per the SPG Blue Book and under the guidance of the central security officials who had already arrived in the state.

West Tripura SP Sankar Debnath said necessary security measures including installation of CCTVs at Swami Vivekananda ground have already been installed.

On Saturday West Tripura District Magistrate Debapriya Bardhan informed the media that  the Prime Minister would arrive at Maharaja Bir Bikram airport in a special flight of Indian Air Force at 2.25 pm from where he would come to Swami Vivekananda ground to address the rally. In the airport Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Union MoS Pratima Bhowmik et al will welcome the Prime Minister.

While in the Swami Vivekananda ground the Prime Minister is likely to make some important announcements relating to the developments and also virtually lay foundation of some projects like Science City, Agartala Government Dental College. There will be a cultural programme at the venue also where as many as 16 troupes will perform.

As there are chances for heavy rush of people to attend the Prime Minister’s programme special trains and buses will also be arranged.

Drinking water facility, temporary toilets, and medical teams will be there in the venue itself for the people gathered there.

As per norms for the entire day the venue where the Prime Minister will address -Swami Vivekananda ground- will remain as no fly zone- meaning no drone or other flying objects will be allowed there.

In the meantime, the ruling BJP geared up all its wings across the state to make the Prime Minister’s programme a grand success. The visit of the Prime Minister is viewed as the kick start of the BJP’s poll campaign  in the state.
