The 20th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme will be released on 2nd August. In this regard, a high-level meeting was held today in New Delhi, under the chairmanship of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The meeting reviewed the preparations for the event and to ensure that the benefit reaches the maximum number of farmers. The event will be led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
In the meeting, Mr. Chouhan instructed officials to connect farmers at national, state, district, and village levels with the programme, and called for organising the event as a nationwide campaign. He also urged farmers across the country to participate in the event.
The Minister highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Six thousand rupees is being transferred to farmers in three instalments under the scheme, with each instalment issued every four months. Our correspondent reports that Directors, Vice Chancellors, and heads of 731 Krishi Vigyan Kendras across the country, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), and agricultural universities virtually attended the meeting.
