PM Modi Inaugurates ₹11,000 Crore Highway Projects in Delhi

Must Read

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated two major National Highway projects worth around 11 thousand crore rupees in New Delhi. These projects include the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II). These projects have been developed as part of the government’s comprehensive plan to decongest the national capital.

In his address, Mr Modi said connectivity across NCR will take a big leap forward with the inauguration of the Delhi section of Dwarka Expressway and UER-II. He said people in Delhi NCR will hugely benefit from this and also save time during their commute.

Speaking on the occasion, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta thanked Prime Minister Modi on behalf of all Delhiites, saying he has worked tirelessly to uplift the people.

The projects aim to significantly improve connectivity, reduce travel time, and ease traffic in Delhi and its surrounding areas. The 10.1-kilometer-long Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway has been developed at a cost of over 5 thousand 300 crore rupees. This section will provide multi-modal connectivity to Yashobhoomi, the DMRC Blue and Orange lines, the upcoming Bijwasan railway station, and the Dwarka cluster bus depot.

The Alipur to Dichaon Kalan stretch of UER-II, along with new links to Bahadurgarh and Sonipat, is constructed at a cost of around 5,580 crore rupees. It will ease traffic on Delhi’s Inner and Outer Ring Roads, as well as at busy points like Mukarba Chowk, Dhaula Kuan, and NH-9.
