Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha announced on Friday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sanctioned PMNRF ex-gratia relief of Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the floods and Rs 50,000 for the seriously injured.
On Facebook, Dr. Saha expressed his gratitude to PM Modi for the assistance extended to the flood-affected people of Tripura.
“Grateful for the support! My heartfelt thanks to Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji for announcing PMNRF ex-gratia relief of Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the floods and Rs 50,000 for the seriously injured,” Dr. Saha wrote.
In the meantime, the  Chief Minister met with the Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) on Friday, which had arrived to assess the flood situation in the state.
The Chief Minister received an assurance from the team that they would promptly submit their report, which will aid in securing further assistance for the flood victims.
Following the meeting, Dr. Saha posted on X that, at the request of the State Government, the Home Ministry had dispatched the IMCT to evaluate the flood situation in Tripura.
“The team arrived on 28th August and has since visited the most affected areas, including South Tripura, Gomati, Sepahijala, and Khowai,” Dr. Saha noted.
He further informed that during the meeting at the secretariat, the IMCT assured him of the immediate submission of their report on the extensive damage caused by the floods to the Home Ministry.
“This will facilitate further assistance and support for the flood-affected people of Tripura. I am grateful for the prompt response and support from the Government of India,” Dr. Saha added.
