Ending all speculations and in a culmination of weeks long political parleys Tripura People’s Front led by firebrand  Patal Kanya Jamatia is going to merge with BJP.  This will undoubdtedly give a new twist in the state politics. Apparently BJP is heading for big game ahead with Patal Kanya being inducted in the fold.  The indications are there that some more important development relating to the Tribal politics are on the card as far as the ruling party and demands for Greater Tipraland etc are concerned.

According to sources, she is likely to join the saffron camp along with a good number of voters from the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

Jamatia, who hails from Teliamura, is now being considered to be an alternative of Pradyut Kishore Manikya, chief of indigenous-based regional party Tipra Motha now ruling the ADC.

She recently met NEDA chairman and Assam Chairman Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati followed by a meeting with Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. Jamatia also had a meeting with Union Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik.
