Due to improvement in health infrastructure and services in the state, patient referrals outside the state have now reduced significantly. Nine super specialty departments will be opened soon at Agartala Medical College and GBP Hospital so that the people of the state can avail better health services, said Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha while inaugurating the newly built 50-beded Ramkumar Naraiha sub-divisional hospital and the newly built Panjiham H.S School building at Karbook.

The Chief Minister also said that earlier poor people used to go outside the state for treatment where they would become financially destitute. Now due to the supporting role of the government, people are able to take advantage of better health services in the state itself. He said that there is a plan to have an AIIMS-style medical college in the state. Apart from this, health and wellness centre is also being developed for the welfare of the patients.

The Chief Minister said that the government is working with utmost importance to fulfil the basic needs of the people. Radical changes are being made in the field of education, health etc. Therefore, the Government, in addition to Vidyajyoti Scheme is emphasizing on the spread of English education along with the mother tongue, converting several schools into English medium schools. The country is moving forward at a fast pace in line with the thought of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The government is working to improve the socio-economic standards of people with Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Biswas. The Chief Minister said that a transparent government is running in the state. Now unemployed youth don’t have to go from door to door to get a job. Government is providing government jobs based on merit. With the introduction of National Education Policy, students are preparing themselves to work efficiently in the future. He also said that the number of crimes in the state has reduced a lot. The present government has launched the Prati Ghare Sushason campaign on September 17. As a result, the people of the state are now able to take advantage of government services in their own areas.

At the programme, MP Rebati Tripura said that the government has given importance to the development of communication system. The state government has plans to construct 7 more national highways in the state. He said that the state now has vast development of communication system by rail, road and air. The work to provide clean drinking water connection to every household in the state by 2022 is progressing at a fast pace. Eklavya schools are being set up to spread education in tribal areas so that they can get free and quality education.

At the programme, MLA Ranjit Das said that communication system is the first and foremost condition for the development of an area. Therefore, along with the improvement of the Churaibari to Sabroom road, the national highway from Teliamura to Karbookvia Sabroom will also be constructed along with double lanes. Gomati District District’s Magistrate Govekar Mayur Ratilal also spoke at the programme. Director of School Education Department NC Sharma delivered the welcome address. SP of Gomati District Ajit Pratap Singh, Social Worker Atindra Reang, Social Worker Abhishek Debroy, Chief Medical Officer of Gomati District Dr. Nirumohan Jamatia, District Education Officer Laxman Chandra Das and others were present at the programme. Chairman of Karbook Block Advisory Committee Asim Tripura presided over the programme.

An amount of 8 crore 23 lakh 42 thousand 451 rupees has been spent on the construction of the sub-divisional hospital with the funds from National Health Mission. The newly constructed two storey sub-divisional hospital has kitchen, mortuary and 4 staff quarters. 4 crore 62 lakh 99 thousand 597 rupees have been spent on the construction of the newly constructed two-storied Karbook Panjiham H.S school funded by NABARD. The newly constructed school has 22 classrooms and 1 auditorium. Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha visited the newly constructed sub-divisional hospital and interacted with the patients. Moreover, after the inauguration programme, the Chief Minister visited the newly constructed school as well.
