NEWS BRIEF : Mahila Morcha felicitates CM

Mahila Morcha, the women wing of ruling BJP, felicitated new Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha at party’s state headquarters on Saturday.

There was enthusiasm among the Mahila Morcha leaders and workers during the felicitation ceremony.

In the programme, discussions were held on women empowerment in a more effective manner .

Speaking to the media, Dr. Saha said that his government would work to take forward the works initiated by the Biplab Kumar Deb-led government.

He requested all the Karyakartas to increase public relations and continue to work for the welfare of people. 

Rajiv Gandhi Remembered

Pradesh Congress on Saturday paid tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi remembering him as a visionary leader on his 31st death anniversary that has been celebrated across the country amid various programs since Saturday morning.

Pradesh Congress organized the main program at Congress Bhawan. PCC president Birajit Sinha, former minister Sudip Roy Barman, Ex- MLA Asish Kumar Saha and others leaders and activists of Pradesh Congress remained present on the occasion.

The program started with hoisting the party flag by PCC president Birajit Sinha and later the leaders laid wreaths at the portrait of Rajiv Gandhi.

A blood donation camp was organized by the Sadar District Congress at Congress Bhavan.

 Former PCC President Sudip Roy Barman talking about the blood donation camp said there is already acute blood crisis in the blood banks of the state following which medical services are being severely disrupted. He urged upon all to come forward and requested them to participate in routine blood donation.

Countrymade Guns recovered

Police recovered two countrymade guns on early Saturday morning from Sriram ADC Village near Atharamura hills under Mungiakami police station.

Acting on a tip off TSR and Mungiakami police conducted a joint search operation in the deep forest of Khadai Sriram ADC Village. The search revealed two country made guns hidden in the forest.
