Former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar interacted people of Kalyanpur and discussed with them about various welfare schemes especially PM-KISAN and PMAY(G) schemes at Kunjaban High School ground. Deb maintained that all people including Antodaya section and those living in remote parts of the state are receiving the benefits of various government schemes.
Deb said the BJP-IPFT government is working for overall development of all sections of people including Janajati people and the benefits are now reaching out to all including those living in remote parts of the state.
He also criticized the previous Left front government on development issues.
“There was no welfare work for the people during the 25-year tenure of the previous government. The development activities started after the formation of the present government. Now, multi-faceted plans of the central and state governments are being implemented,” Deb said.
Speaking on the development works, Deb said, while people are receiving free water connections under Jal Jeevan Mission, housing benefit is also being provided under PMAY-G.
He said, the state government initiated a Rs. 100-crore plan for tea garden workers and various initiatives including 33 percent women reservation for government jobs have also been taken for women empowerment.
While the programme registered huge response from the people of Kalyanpur, an elderly woman emotionally broke down while interacting with Deb at the end of the programme.
Labour minister Bhagaban Chandra Das, MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury, Chief Whip of assembly Kalyani Roy along with local leaders and officials were present in the interaction programme.
