The Crime Branch  wing of the Tripura Police has got its own seperate new building from where the wing will now function. DGP V S Yadav inaugurated the the new office of the Crime Branch on Saturday  at the old secretariat building.

The Crime Branch which was set up after BJP led government was formed in 2018 which included four units – f- Serious Crime Unit, Cyber Crime Unit, Economic Offence Unit and Anti-Narcotics Unit.
In his speech the top cop stressed on modern facilities and infrastructure for better performance of the police department, especially important wing like that of Crime Branch. It is important for the investigators, he said.
“Cyber Crime is increasing across the country including Tripura. A special cell under the Crime Branch is working in the state to handle the Cyber Crimes. Besides, the Cyber Crime cells are also functioning in district level,” Yadav added.
To raise mass awareness on cyber frauds, the Crime Branch runs campaigns through social media platforms and other ways so that the people don’t fall prey to cyber criminals, the police chief said.
