Nepali Poet Bhanu Bhakta Acharya’s 212th birth anniversary celebrated across India

The Chief Minister of West Bengal Mr. Suvendu Adhikari, The Chief Minister of Sikkim Mr. P.S. Golay (Tamang), the Chief Minister of Assam Mr.Hemant Biswa Sarma and several National, State and Regional Leaders paid tribute to the Legandary Nepali Poet Bhanu Bhakta Acharya on his 212th birth anniversary.
 
 
Many literary organisations, district administration and school colleges in Darjeeling Hills ,Tarai and Doors observed Bhanu Jayati with great enthusiasm. 
 
 
Bhanu Bhakta Acharya is remembered every year on 13 July for his great work, translation of epic Balmiki Ramayana from Sanskrit to Nepali Language.
 
 
Today at Darjeeling, Mirik, Kurseong, Kalimpong , Siliguri, Tarai Doars big processions were organised in which thousand of school college students, members of NGOs along with common people took part and floral tributes were paid.
 
 
Beside this several prominent persons were felicitated with Bhanu Awards for their remarkable contribution for Nepali Language and Society. On the occassion District Adminitration of Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Alipurduar has also organised Bhanu Jayanti Events in which DMs, ADMs and SDOs paid tribute.
 
 
As part of celebrations Nepali Ramayan Verses recitation competitions were organised and winner teams were awarded.
 
 
The 212th Bhanu Jayanti is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya, the legendary first poet of the Nepali language. It is celebrated on Ashadh 29 (July 13) every year by the Nepali community over the Globe.
 
 
The festivities not only to pay homage to his invaluable contributions to Nepali literature, most notably his translation of the epic Ramayana from Sanskrit to Nepali but also to foster the great bond of Indo – Nepal relations, National Unity and Cultural awakening. 
 
 
Bhanu Bhakta Acharya was born in Ramgha of Tanahu District of Nepal. His contributions in fostering the Nepali Language is regarded as supreme.
 
 
On the occasion Nepali Ramayan verses recitation competitions, Poets Conclave, Poets and Writers felicitation events have been organized.
