Nepal Hosts Climate and Gender Policy Dialogue to Empower Youth and Women

In a high-level policy, dialogue on climate, gender, sexual and reproductive health and rights organised in Kathmandu Valley policy makers, bureaucrats, humanitarian leaders, ambassadors, environmentalist, and key stakeholders from the health sector under the banner of Green Tech for women discussed on future course for policy making in Nepal to bring gender equality and enhance youth participation in climate conservation. The dialogue fostered intergenerational conversations on integrating climate action, gender equality, and SRHR into national policy frameworks.
 
 
In the event, Indira Rana Magar, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives affirmed that advocacy should save the policy and policy should serve the people. Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri, Minister for Forests and Environment, Giriraj Mani Pokherel, Former Minister for Education and Health, Dr. Sunil Babu Shrestha, Former Member of the National Planning Commission (NPC) and Vice Chancellor of NAST shared their views on ways of for amplifying youth voices, strengthening cross-sector collaboration, and shaping inclusive national policies for a sustainable and equitable future.
 
 
Dr. Maheswor Dhakal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Forests and Environment highlighted the critical gaps and intersections between climate change and gender equality, and the pressing challenges posed by misinformation.
