Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Sangathan organizes Yoga Mahotsav on May 4, 2022 Over 75,000 Youth will participate in various activities organized in all districts across the country, said State Director NYK Sangathan, Tripura Jaba Chakraborty .
The Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), an organization of the Department of Youth Affairs is all set to organize the Yoga Mahotsav.
The key activities planned include Practice of the Common Yoga Protocol, Yoga Break (Y-Break) practice, Lectures on Yoga by Experts, Yoga Workshops, Yoga Demonstrations and Yoga-related competitions. These events are being organized as part of the 100-days Countdown Program for International Yoga Day 2022 as announced by the Government of India through the Ministry of AYUSH.
NYKS has been actively organizing 100-day Count Down Activities through district NYKs since March 2022 and as of now, 5087 Practice Sessions as per Common Yoga Protocol were organized wherein 84,000 youth participated. Besides. 750 webinars/seminars and 1000 Knowledge competitions (Quiz, Essay & Painting) have been organized with the participation of 80,000 youth and others. NYKS since the inception of IYD in the year 2015 has successfully mobilized over 6.5 crore youth into the fold of Yoga during the last 7 years.
Yoga Abhyas is not merely a physical exercise but is an initiative aimed at the overall development of the individual. It facilitates the well-being of individuals and society and strengthens intrinsic human values. Yoga as a way of life assumes greater significance in the broader context of raising a fit and healthy generation of citizens for the future of our country.
NYKS has promoted Yoga to become an enduring part of the lifestyle of citizens of our country through programs like Yoga@Home and the popularisation of Yoga in various programs of NYKS. NYKS intends to carry forward this momentum and build up activities culminating in the Celebration of International Yoga Day on June 21, 2022 at a grand scale.
Under the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Tripura, all the districts organized various types of activities like Practice of the Common Yoga Protocol, Knowledge Competitions- Quiz, Seminars/Webinars on Yoga etc. with the help of National Youth Volunteers and Youth Club Members.
Till now, 2160 participants took part in the 100-days Countdown Program as a part of International Yoga Day 2022.
A Yoga Mahotsav will also be held on May 14, 2022 in each of the NYK districts i.e. Kanchanmaia Shiv Mandir in West Tripura, Dharmanagar Rajbari in North Tripura, Kusharghat in Gomati and Gandachara in Dhalai.
