India’s Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, has arrived in Colombo on a four-day official visit aimed at strengthening defence cooperation with Sri Lanka. He held talks with Sri Lanka’s service chiefs and the Defence Secretary yesterday. Admiral Tripathi is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya and senior government leaders for discussions centred on maritime security, training, and capacity enhancement.

He will address the 12th edition of the Galle Dialogue 2025 in Colombo tomorrow. The international conference, which brings together naval leaders and strategic experts, is focusing this year on the Maritime Outlook of the Indian Ocean under Changing Dynamics.
