The National Consumer Helpline (NCH) has facilitated refunds of more than 105 crore rupees to consumers across 35 sectors by addressing over one lakh 66 thousand refund-related grievances. These grievances were from the fifteen-month period from 25th April 2025 to 31st July 2026. The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution said that the refunds were facilitated at the pre-litigation stage, enabling consumers to obtain timely relief without having to approach the Consumer Commissions. The Ministry noted that the e-commerce sector accounted for the largest share of refund-related grievances, with over one lakh complaints resulting in refunds of more than 74 crore rupees. The Travel and Tourism sector followed, with refunds exceeding 10 crore rupees.

The Ministry highlighted that NCH operates through a convergence-based mechanism under which consumer grievances are digitally forwarded to the concerned companies for resolution within defined timelines. It added that refund-related grievances received through NCH have come from metropolitan cities as well as remote regions across the country, reflecting the platform’s reach as a pan-India mechanism for consumer grievance redressal. The Ministry noted that the National Consumer Helpline provides consumers access to grievance redressal in 17 languages through multiple channels. It also encouraged the consumers to proactively utilise the National Consumer Helpline to safeguard their consumer rights and seek redressal of their grievances.
