Additional District and Sessions Court, Dhalai has sentenced a killer to rigorous imprisonment for life in less than one year of the crime.
The convict is Jyotish Debnath (40), resident of Prafulla Deb Para in West Karam Cherra under Manu police station. The conviction refers to Manu police station case no- 18/2021.
Jyotish was found guilty by the court under section 302 of IPC on February 10 last for killing his sister-in-law Shiuli Debnath over enmity for a land related dispute on May 09, last year. The housewife was hacked to death.
Sub-Inspector Zonolua Halam of Manu police station investigated the case and Advocate Indranil Chakraborty prosecuted the case.
As the court delivered speedy justice, the victim’s family has expressed satisfaction.
