Multiple plans have been taken up for the development of industry and commerce sector in the state. The government is working on a priority basis to ensure an industry-friendly and investment-friendly environment. In addition to expanding bunch of opportunities for the development of industry and commerce, simplification of rules has been introduced in a number of areas, stated Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb after inaugurating Destination Tripura-Investment Summit 2021 today at Pragna Bhawan. It is to be noted that this is the first time for such an investment summit to have been organized in the state. The Chief Minister said, the government is giving priority towards building a favourable environment for industrial infrastructure and commercial security in the state for the benefit of the investors. There is huge opportunity to develop industry in innovative ways by selecting and investing in the right industries going beyond traditional stream in the state. The Chief Minister welcomed industrialists to invest in the potential sectors of the state through practical application. He also interacted with industrialists and investors present in the second phase of the Investment Summit.
The Chief Minister in the summit said, at present the state government is moving ahead along with private sectors in terms of proper management and speedy implementation of the plans. He also emphasized on bringing about a commercial revolution as the first rays of sunrise reach Tripura as a North-eastern state. He said, economic self-sufficiency is possible through self-identification and setting up of new industries by exploring various potentials in Tripura going beyond the traditional trend. The state government will extend the hand of cooperation by expanding incentives and facilities in industry and commerce. In order to increase the interest of investors in industrial development, the state government has introduced simplification and relaxation in a number of areas. Bunch of plans are being successfully implemented for the development of all sectors from small to heavy industries. Emphasis has been also given upon speeding up governmental processes. Changed outlook is being reflected in the workplace for the development of industry sector. As a result, Tripura is already being known for its innovativeness including achievements of various young entrepreneurs. According to Niti Aayog data, Tripura is one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
The state government has various schemes including subsidy for both national and international airlines to develop commercial potential by utilizing the international airport which is soon to be opened in Tripura. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s earnest efforts, the pace of development in Tripura is impossible to stop. The state government is earnestly working to bring development in almost every sector including IT sector and data sector.
