In Uttar Pradesh, monsoon has provided much-needed relief from the scorching summer heat. Most of the districts witnessed rainfall in the last 24 hours.
Akashvani Correspondent reports that according to the India Meteorological Department, the southwest monsoon is set to intensify over the next few days. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected across the state, accompanied by thunder, lightning, and strong winds in the next two days. The IMD has issued an orange alert for several eastern districts, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas. A total of 36 districts, including Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Kanpur, have been flagged for potential intense rainfall and lightning today. The remaining parts of the state are also likely to experience rain. Apart from the 36 high-alert districts, light to moderate rain is expected in regions like Saharanpur, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Bareilly, Moradabad, and Gorakhpur, among others. The rains are expected to bring a notable drop of 3-4°C in maximum temperatures over the next 2-3 days. IMD has advised residents to stay alert during thunderstorms and avoid outdoor activities during intense weather.
