In an unprecedented and disgraceful incident son of an important minister of the state in an inebriated condition got involved with brawls with no other than the members of a visiting Parliamentary Standing Committee—among whom were also prominent members like former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, former UP Chief Minisre Jagadambika Pal , Sanjay Singh , Gautam Gambhir et al last night. Some of them came here with their family members also.
The incident took place at Hotel Polo Towers where the members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee were putting up.
The visiting Parliamentary panel would stay here till Friday.
The outrageous incident took place when the minister’s son along with his friend went to the hotel bar and got wholly drunk. Soon he got involved in an altercation with the hotel staff and became highly aggressive. It was then he took on a senior IAS officer of the state present near the lounge. As he tried to go physical with the IAS, the officer also retaliated. The Parliamentarians were also having some meeting in adjoining areas and the minister’s son all of a sudden started abusing them too. Soon after the drunk went straight to senior Parliamentary team member Digvijay Singh who was sitting with his wife. As he misbehaved with Singh the former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader’s security pushed him away. It was then he started misbehaving with Sanjay Singh. It was then the hotel stuff brought the bouncers who threw him out. He left the hotel but came back soon and started misbehaving again.
The hotel management called the police. The police came rushing and detained the Minister’s son but for some reasons best known to them no action was taken against him. No case was also registered.
In the meantime such a scandalous and disgraceful incident with the important guests of the state – who came here to study and help the government with central supports-, came as a severe shock for the people of the state.
“It is indeed a matter of extreme shame and disgrace for us. Such behaviour in a drunken state by son of a senior minister is not only unexpected but absolutely unacceptable. We shall take up the matter at appropriate level”, said a BJP leader on condition of anonymity.
