A meeting of the Standing Committee on Social Justice of West Tripura Zilla Parishad was held on 28th July, 2022 in the auditorium of the West Tripura ZillaParishad. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the committee President Aparna Sen and was attended by Sahakari Sabhadipati of the Zilla Parishad Haridulal Acharya, other members and members of the committee and officials of various departments. In the meeting, the officials of the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education said that 25 thousand 495 lactating mothers in the district have received financial assistance of 5000 rupees in three installments under the ‘Pradhan MantriMatru Bandana Yojana’ so far this year. 84 thousand 210 people of the district are receiving allowances under various social allowance schemes. 1,200 pregnant mothers in West District have been assisted so far under the ‘Mukhyamantri Matru Pushti Uphaar’scheme. Moreover, under ‘Mukhya Mantrri AntodyayaShradhanjaliYojana’ assistance have been given to 149 families. In the meeting, the officials also said that the work for identification of disabled people is almost over for the purpose of giving one nation one certificate in the district. Now the work of giving certificate is going on.
The officials of ‘Abhay Mission’ said in the meeting that as a part of ‘AzadikaAmritMahotsav’ financial assistance will be given including distribution of food items to the needy families in Mundapara of Mohanpur sub-division under the initiative of ‘Abhay Mission’. For this, necessary survey work is going on. In the meeting, the officials of DDRC said that so far 312 children of West District have been given certificates in “Azadi se Antyodaya tak” programme. In the programme, Divyangjan support camps were conducted in different blocks of the district from May 24 to July 20. Through these camps, names of 955 people in Jirania subdivision, 952 in Sadar subdivision, 2803 in Mohanpur subdivision have been newly registered. In the meeting, Tripura State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (TSCPCR)Chairperson Nilima Ghosh discussed various issues of child marriage and child abuse.
