To make the platinum jubilee programme of Maharaja Bir Bikram College a successful one, a meeting of the preparation committee was held in the secretariat conference hall no. 2 under the chairmanship of Education Minister Ratan lal Nath. It was informed in the meeting that the Platinum Jubilee of Maharaja Bir Bikram College will be celebrated on the occasion of 75th anniversary from September 5 to September 9 through different programmes. It was informed in the meeting that the President of the country Draupadi Murmu will be present in the programme on September 9. It was decided in the meeting that a colorful procession will be organized on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of MBB College on September 5 at 6:30 am. This procession will circumambulate various routes in Agartala. The exhibition gallery of the college will also open at 10 am on that day. State-level Teachers’ Day program will be organized in the premises of Maharaja Bir Bikram College at 3 pm. Cultural program will be held at 6 pm on that day.
It was decided in the meeting that the drawing competition will be held from 7.30 am in Rabindra Hall of the college on September 6. Students and alumni of the college will participate in it. After that Swachta Abhiyan will be organized in the adopted village of the college. And then at 10.30 am on that day it will be followed by tree plantation programme at the college campus. Apart from distribution of sweets and fruits to cancer hospital patients of the state on that day, educational kits with food items will be given to an orphanage. The cross country race will be held on September 7 at 6 am. Moreover, MBB University will conduct inter-college football tournament among the recognized colleges. A cultural program will be held at 5 pm on that day. A mega blood donation camp will also be organized on September 8 at 10 am. Group discussion will be held in the college at 4 pm on that day. 9 September is the foundation day of MBB College and the President, Governor, Chief Minister and other dignitaries will attend the main event on September 9, which is the last day of the 5-day programme. A wonderful cultural programme will be held in the college at 5 pm on that day. Prominent artistes of Kolkata will also participate in this programme.
The meeting also decided to release a souvenir on the occasion of 75th anniversary of MBB College. Apart from the Education Minister, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Deepak Majumder, Chairman of Tripura Tea Development Corporation, Santosh Saha, former Vice-Chancellor of Tripura University, Dr. Arunoday Saha, Higher Education Department Secretary, Abhishek Singh, Higher Education Director, N.C Sharma, Information and Cultural Affairs Department Director, Ratan Biswas, former MBB College professor, Mihir Deb, senior journalist Sanjib Deb and college professors were present and participated in the discussion. Education Minister Ratan lal Nath urged everyone to implement the programme smoothly.
