The youth must follow the life path of the nation’s brave heroes. Only then will it be possible to reach the right path in life, enunciated Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha after inaugurating Albert Ekka War Memorial at Lichu Bagan and Jagannath Bari Park under Agartala Smart City yesterday. In the beginning of the inaugural programme, the Chief Minister paid floral tribute to the martyrs at Albert Ekka War Memorial. Then he unveiled Albert Ekka War Memorial plank and Jagannath Bari Park plank.
While speaking during the programme, the Chief Minister said, the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers during India-Pakistan war of 1971 will never be forgotten. We can see the spirit of sacrifice and bravery for the nation only among Indians. This War Memorial has been built to pay tribute to our freedom fighters and their sacrifices made for the nation. He said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called on everyone to celebrate Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to generate patriotism besides remembering mother India’s brave sons and our freedom fighters. The campaign was successfully celebrated in Tripura along with the entire nation. He said, our soldiers are protecting our nation without caring about their own lives. The people of the nation remember them every while with great respect. He also said, it is possible to build One Tripura, Best Tripura in the coming days with everyone’s cooperation.
Son of Martyr Lance Nayak Albert Ekka, Vincent Ekka was presented with Mukhyamantri Samman Smarak and a cheque on behalf of Agartala Smart City in the programme. MLA Dr. Dilip Kumar Das, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder, Vincent Ekka, Retired Brigadier J. P. Tiwari and Brigadier Nilesh Choudhary also spoke on the occasion. Welcome speech was delivered by Chief Executive Officer of Agartala Smart City Limited Dr. Sailesh Kumar Yadav. Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha and Secretary of Urban Development department Kiran Gitte were also present during the programme.
