In France, a wildfire broke out on Tuesday near the village of Ribaute in the southern Aude region destroying over 16,000 hectares of land, an area larger than Paris. Reports say, a woman lost life due to suffocation, and several are injured.
The wildfire is spreading fast due to extreme heat, dry conditions, and strong winds. More than 2,100 firefighters, along with 500 fire trucks, military personnel, and aircraft, have been deployed to fight the flames. The fire has already traveled 28 kilometers and is advancing at a rate of 5 to 6 kilometers per hour.
