Government has said that 95 per cent of the total eight thousand projects under the Smart Cities Mission have been completed. The mission was launched in 2015 to improve the quality of life in hundreds of cities by providing efficient services, robust infrastructure, and sustainable solutions.
Replying to a supplementary question in the Lok Sabha today, Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal said that seven thousand 336 projects have been completed worth over one lakh 53 thousand crore rupees. He said, all the hundred smart cities have Integrated Command and Control Centres. The Minister said, more than 99 per cent of the total budgeted outlay has been released to hundred cities in the mission.
