After rising for three straight week, domestic benchmark indices will focus on quarterly results, tariff news, and foreign fund inflows in the holiday-truncated next week. Last week, the Sensex and the Nifty jumped 1.7 percent.
Next week, trading on the BSE and the NSE will be closed on October 21, for Diwali and Laxmi Pujan, and on October 22, for Diwali Balipratipada. Muhurat trading will be conducted on October 21, from 1.45 pm to 2.45 pm.
Investors will keep an eye on any news flows about US tariffs on China, and signals of a potential trade deal between India and the US will act as major triggers for the domestic market.
In the coming week, the markets’ focus will also be corporate earnings results including HUL, SBI Life, and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories.
Globally, US September CPI numbers will be released on Friday. The US federal shutdown, which started on October 1, has delayed key macro data.
