A 35-kilometer marathon run, organized as part of Tripura’s endeavor to become a drug-free state, marked a significant step towards promoting a healthier and safer environment. The run, conducted under the Khowai District Police’s “Fit India Run” and “Operation Sanjeevani,” took place on Saturday, reflecting the spirit of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mohotsav celebrations and the upcoming 77th Independence Day.

Khowai District Police orchestrated the “Fit India Run,” which spanned from Khowai to Teliamura, in a collective effort to contribute to the state’s fight against substance abuse. Following the marathon, a program was held at Ampi Chowmuhani in Teliamura, centered around the “Operation Sanjeevani” initiative under the Nesha Mukt (Drug-free) Tripura campaign. Chief Whip of Tripura Legislative Assembly, Kalyani Saha Roy, Superintendent of Khowai District Police, Dr. Ramesh Yadav, and other dignitaries participated in the event.

In a parallel endeavor, Amarpur and Ompi sub-division Police joined forces with the SDM Amarpur office to organize a bike rally in the Amarpur Nagar Panchayat area. The rally’s primary objective was to raise awareness about the importance of wearing helmets while riding and adhering to traffic regulations.

A total of 37 police bike riders participated in the rally, which commenced from Chandibari Ground and traversed the entirety of Amarpur town before culminating at Rangkang. SDPO of Aamarpur, Debanjali Ray, was present at the starting point to provide guidance and support for the initiative.

Both events reflect Tripura’s commitment to fostering a healthier society and promoting responsible behavior among citizens. These initiatives, carried out in conjunction with the nation’s 77th Independence Day celebrations, serve as a testament to the state’s ongoing efforts to create a drug-free and safety-conscious environment for its residents.
