CPM politburo member Manik Sarkar said ‘attacks’ on Trinamool Congress leaders and supporters in Tripura are condemnable.
Sarkar said, “The ruling party is trying to establish a one-party dictatorship in the State. They are wearing facemasks of democracy but fascist in mind”. He was speaking at a programme organized by the Tripura Motor Shramik Union in Agartala
Referring to the ‘attacks’, the Opposition leader said, TMC conducted political activities in Tripura during the Left regime and took part in Polls, however, such things did not happen at that time. “I am feeling ashamed after seeing the reports of attacks in news channels as such incidents are sending wrong messages about Tripura”, Sarkar said and added, the Chief Minister will have to take action to stop the occurrence of incidents.
Meanwhile, GMP leaders while attending the Central Committee meeting also expressed concern over the ‘attacks’ on TMC. Speaking to the media, GMP leader Radha Charan Debbarma said, political violence is increasing in the State. Leftists are coming under attacks so also the TMC activists – this is a clear indication of deteriorating law and order conditions in the State. He condemned the attacks on MLAs and MPs of TMC in the State.
