Trinamool Congress supremo Mamta Banerjee is likely to campaign for the party candidates in the by poll here.  She has been listed as one of the star campaigners for the party candidates as released by TMC leader Kunal Ghosh here on Monday.

Ghosh said, Abhishek Banerjee  Trinamool Congress general secretary will participate in a road rally on Tuesday in support of the party candidates in the by-polls. Banerjeee will arrive in Agartala on in the morning.

TMC leader Kunal Ghosh  said there are 27 star campaigners including TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee.

On Abhisek Banerjee’s tours , Ghosh said, Banerjee would campaign in the state in two phases. On Tuesday, he will join a road show and conduct a poll meeting.

He (Abhishek) has to go to Delhi for urgent work so the Tripura unit has asked him to come to Tripura again on June 20, Ghosh said.

TMC state president Subal Bhowmik said, the road show would start from Gandhi Ghat in Town Bordowali Assembly constituency at around 12 pm and end at Agartala constituency’s GB Bazaar where Banerjee would address a gathering.

Ghosh alleged, the ruling BJP is considering TMC as its main rival and facing a threat of losing power. As a result, the BJP is destroying TMC’s campaign materials in various places.

“BJP has realized that the TMC is the only threat for them in all over Tripura at present and so they intensified attacks on our activists, destroying poll campaign accessories including flags, festoons and banners. They are doing so in fear of losing power,” Ghosh told the reporters.

On the other hand, TMC also wrote a letter to the Election Commission on Monday highlighting yet another incident of BJP workers misbehaving with Trinamool workers and tearing off the party posters and festoons.

Meanwhile, the Trinamool leaders alleged stone pelting by BJP workers in a street corner in support of Panna Deb at Noagaon under 6- Agartala constituency. They also alleged that a group of BJP workers chanted slogans in front of the street corner in presence of police.
