Trinamool Congress which did not go for any alliance with any party will join the fray alone with party’s all India general secretary Abhisek Bannerjee being the star campaigner.
The party supremo Mamta Bannerjee will also address party rallies in Agartala on February 7 next , said TMC state unit president Pijush Biswas in a press conference. Mamta Bannerjee will arrive Agartala on February 06 evening and next morning she will go to Tripureswari Temple. After her return from Matabari she will have a brief meeting with party leaders and then join the party rally.
Biswas said, the rally will begin from Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan and after criss-crossing the city roads will return to Rabindra Bhavan where Mamata Banerjee will address the people.
However, her nephew and party’s general secretary Abhishek Bannerjee and some other leaders and celebrities will also keep on arriving here to lead the TMC’s poll campaign.
Apart from them the TMC Tripura inchrage Rajib Bannerjee and MP Sushmita Dev will also stay put in Tripura to monitor, manage and participate in poll campaigns.
Abhishek Banerjee will also arrive in the state on February 2 next and campaign in Dharmanagr and Sonamura.
Biswas said, that soon the party would announce the candidates’ list and added that the TMC received as many as 129 applications for nominations.
“We have already prepared a tentative list and this will be sent to party high command for approval”, he said. The list was prepared in consultation with party leaders at all levels.
Rajib Bannerjee said that the party appointed observers for each block to manage election campaigns .
