Within a week of police shake up a significant administrative rejig has been done on Wednesday. The state government announced a series of transfers and additional charge allocations for several IAS (Indian Administrative Service) and TCS SSG (Tripura Civil Services) officers, including changes in District Magistrates. This reshuffle aims to optimize administrative efficiency and enhance the effectiveness of various government departments.
Here are some of the key changes:
Dr. Debashis Basu: Dr. Debashis Basu, who previously served in the Health and Family Welfare department, has been relieved of his duties in that capacity. He will now hold the crucial charge of Secretary for both the General Administration (SA) and General Administration (Political) departments. This appointment underscores his role in overseeing administrative matters of significant importance.
A.K. Bhattacharya: A.K. Bhattacharya, who held independent charges of GA(SA) and GA(Political) departments, has been relieved of these responsibilities. The additional responsibility for these departments will now fall under the purview of Dr. Sandeep Rathod, the secretary. Dr. Rathod will also continue his role as the Health Secretary, further showcasing his versatility in the administrative domain.
Dr. Vishal Kumar: Dr. Vishal Kumar, who served as the District Magistrate of Sepahijala, has been transferred and appointed as the District Magistrate of West Tripura. His wealth of experience will be instrumental in addressing the district’s unique challenges and opportunities. He takes over from Debapriya Bardhan, who has been assigned the role of District Magistrate in North Tripura, where her administrative skills will be invaluable.
Nagesh Kumar B.: Nagesh Kumar B., the former District Magistrate of North Tripura, has been relocated to Sepahijala district. This move reflects the government’s commitment to optimizing the placement of experienced officers in key districts.
Tarit Kanti Chakma: The District Magistrate of Unakoti, Tarit Kanti Chakma, has been transferred to Gomati district. His tenure in Gomati will present new challenges and opportunities for effective governance. In his absence, Rajib Dutta, the Additional District Magistrate of Unakoti, will assume the role of District Magistrate in addition to his current responsibilities.
