Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today said that political parties that ruled Tripura before 2018 intentionally kept the tribal population away from mainstream development for political interest.
On the contrary, taking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision forward and the incumbent state government gave impetus to sectors like education, health care, improved roads, and socio-economic well-being, Deb added.
He was addressing a joining programme of the party at Chawmanu under Dhalai district. The programme has been organized under the banner— ‘Jan Ashirwaad Yatra’. He was overwhelmed by the response of people during the programme.
Addressing the public gathering, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said the government is working on a priority basis for the development of tribal areas. Instead of a one-party government in the past, his government stands for all.
“Some political parties believe in creating confusion and using that particular system the tribal people were deprived for years and intentionally the mainstream development was made inaccessible for the hilly areas . Modiji’s sincere vision and the efforts of the state government have given impetus to education, health care, improved roads, socio-economic well-being of people in all walks of life.”, he added.
Remembering Nishikanta Chakma, Deb said, Nishikanta Chakma had to die due to political vengeance. If the communists had stayed in power, more lives would have been sacrificed. BJP has taught politics of tolerance in the state.
Present in the function, State BJP Vice President Patal Kanya Jamatia lashed out at TIPRA motha. “I am announcing here, Chawmanu will vote for BJP. No other party can make any progress here. We have strong leaders like Sambhu Lal Chakma and Hansa Kumar Tripura who are working day and night to make BJP win here”, she said.
