Land feud that led to violent clashes between families turned fatal in Kamalpur on Thursday leaving two persons- Rajani Das and Bilasi Das- dead and severel other injured. The incident triggered huge tension in Dabbari areas under Kamalpur subdivision and massive police deployment had been made.

Reports reaching here said that a group of people heavily armed with sharp weapons led by Bikash Das and Dhirendra Das launched an attack on Rajani Das, Santosh Das, Pritush Das and Bilasi Das at Jogendra Para under Salema police station in Daabbari following a land dispute. They all sustained grievous  injuries and were taken to Dhalai District Hospital. However, as the health conditions of Rajani Das, Priyatosh Das and Bilasi Das were critical, they were referred to GB Hospital The attending doctor at GB Trauma Centre pronounced Rajani Das as brought dead while two other seriously wounded persons – Priyatosh and Bilasi Das were undergoing treatment at the Hospital. Later, in the evening, Bilasi Das succumbed to his injuries while Priyatosh is still battling for his life.

According to local sources, a complaint was lodged with the Salema Police station. No one was arrested till the report was filed. The accused persons reportedly  are absconding.

Following the incident the entire area was reeling under simmering tension. Situation turned volatile with the report of the two injured persons succumbing to their injuries. Police , however, arranged massive security arrangements and TSR personnel were deployed to thwart and further
